Exodus
"The house of Israel called its name Manna... and its taste was like wafers with honey."
— Exodus 16:31
The Reading LensEvery verse pulled to the top of a book is chosen by three questions: Where is God’s heart here? Who is He protecting? Who is being saved by the action? It marks the place where those answers come into clearest focus — a “look at this, in this book.”
About the Book
Exodus is the founding story of Israel as a people: enslaved in Egypt, delivered through plagues and the parted sea, given the Law at Sinai, and taught to carry God's presence in a tent. It is the Bible's central picture of rescue — a God who hears the cry of slaves and comes down to free them.
The hero verse is small and easy to pass over: the naming of manna, the bread that simply appeared each morning in the wilderness. A people who could not feed themselves were fed, day by day, by a God who provides exactly enough for today.
